I copied and pasted this news extract from google concerning a statue that I saw last night on my way home from the city.....

Bronze 'Cunnamulla Fella' pays tribute to Slim Dusty

One of Slim Dusty's biggest country music hits has been immortalised in bronze.

A bronze statue of the 'Cunnamulla Fella' has been built as a tribute to the iconic Australian star, who died two years ago.

It is on display in Brisbane's Queen Street Mall this weekend.

Paroo Shire Mayor Ian Tonkin says the statue will be moved to Cunnamulla in south-western Queensland next week for the unveiling ceremony.

"Now Slim Dusty's widow Joy McKeen is coming out and Stan Costa, who wrote the song, his descendants, his daughter I believe are coming out and they'll be officially unveiling him in the evening of the 18th of next month," he said. Posted by Picasa
