on the west pennine way
I have been here for well nearly a week.
Staying with an old friend I grew up with and played on the streets with around my house.
Its been great
I also managed to catch up with an Aussie Friend Anne for a day, who I work with and visited spots with her like Blackpool and Poulton le Fylde where we watched many morris dancers and a fantastic one woman band lady from cumbria...I felt like I was travelling back in time.
I slept in the sunshine outside the church among the old grave stones and drank my first Boddingtons beer in the local pub in Poulton le Fylde since being in England and how smooth and creamy it was!
I bought a mac in a sac at the charity clothes shop there and have got a lot of use from it since getting it, as the weather has changed a bit and we have had rainy days and overcast almost wintry conditions (which is apparently quite normal for these parts)
I also made a huge saving as it was ten pounds extra in cost in the camping shop nearby....
When the sun shines though its just like a bit of Australia is here.
My friends and their families have been very kind, very welcoming and let me stay in their homes like I am of their family.
I visited Lancaster and saw old uni friends and their two babies and their home and and they took me for a lovely drive to nicky's nook
lots of oak trees, and wild rhodedendrums
everywhere in the countryside here it is awesome
the ride over the pennines was fantastic and moving for me
I realise that the land wherever you go has a profound affect on ones spirit or inner being I much prefer exploring the countryside areas in England to being in the cities.
